The four bodies that pay for it
Stafford, Spotsylvania and King George Boards of Supervisors, and Fredericksburg City Council. Each meets on a published schedule, mostly evenings, and takes public comment. Each received an FY’27 invoice: operational impacts totaling $3,090,128.00 across the four.

Candidates for sheriff and supervisor
The standard, published before any assessment: will you support release of jail records without a fight, will you back a pretrial presumption of release for non-violent charges, will you require behavioral health service interruptions to be disclosed to the Board in writing, and will you vote for a cost model that separates fixed from marginal cost per prisoner day.
