This place is disgusting. They don't give a f*** about anyone in here. I spent 10 total in here and could tell. I spent 3 days begging for a feminine product. You would think a women's pod would have those! Nope took 3 days off me bl33ding on myself and begging 3 different CO's to get me some. The women don't care about women's health at all. They look at us all like we are trash. I've been to Fairfax and Prince William. Over 11 years ago . They know how to properly run a jail. Maybe they need to talk to them. SMH. I'm traumatized. From being in RRJ. Literally.

I was there for a few days after I had a baby and it was the worst! They were so overpopulated there were 4-5 people in a cell. Right after I had a surgery I had to go straight to the cell, they made me carry all of my linens, mattress, and something called a boat because the cell was so full I had to sleep on the boat on the floor along with another girl..it was disgusting and whole time I wasn’t supposed to be lifting anything they still made me carry all of that stuff in there. They also gave me a wool blanket after I told them I was allergic, I ended up breaking out in hives and it took 2 days for them to finally give me a Benadryl to help with the hives. On top of my pain I then had to deal with itching from hives for 2 damn days. This was back in 2015 so it’s been a little while but I doubt it’s changed much since then.

I was locked up with a girl in 2016 who went into labor. They left her in the cell forever. Finally they took her to medical where they left her for hours so she had her baby in medical at rrj alone.

Ya jail gave me MRSA. Kept me in medical for 10 days with my arm busted open from my surgery, all they did was clean it with dial soap lmao, shit took three surgeries just to clear the infection

It should be proper mental health care for everyone that needs it and especially people who have known psychiatric diagnoses. They wonder why people are no better once released.

I was there in 2019 and the amount of women I saw with SEVERE infections waiting months for real care was staggering! My cell was COVERED in feces and I had to beg for cleaning supplies! After 3 months I went to prison and it was such a relief! If I'd have had to do 10 months in RRJ I guarantee I'd have some major health issues! Both physical AND mental! It's fucking CRIMINAL what they're doing.

I did 6 days at RRJ in 2011 and the things I played witness too. I started my period 24hrs after booking in and was not "allowed" any feminine hygiene products. The sandwich I was provided in intake left me sick as a dog for 2-3 days. They served green hotdogs one day for lunch, I am not lying when I say they had a green tint to them, mold on the bread. There were 4 of us to a cell, 2 boats on the floor and when the cells are cramped as is, you can imagine. A lady jumped from the 2nd tier floor the week I was there. I took a plea on something I could have probably beat, I just had to get out.

Let’s talk about why she’s back in jail. She attempted to suffocate her baby on a FaceTime. Not including the child endangerment charges she has as well. Why she isn’t allowed around her children.

We all know there are problems there and its unfortunate that you all received this neglect and them calling it treatment. Im sorry that you all had to experience this, no one deserves this. I know this page exists to spread light on how things are managed but the bigger issue is how do we collectively fix anything or work to bring solutions. Is it a lack of resources in people, funding, medical staff....like I would be willing to sit down and have a real discussion and work on solutions.

I’ve had my own personal shit with Rappahannock personally, they almost killed me March 2025..
And back in 2022 I seen them send a girl back to the pod after giving birth, and she clearly needed a blood transfusion..
 somebody had a seizure in the bottom of May 2025, and I believe she passed away, it took them 10 minutes to respond and then we were looking out the balcony and they were just standing there
I helped a girl whose sugar was extremely low, behind a locked door.
I was the only one awake, thank God there was a pod worker outside of the doors.
She hit that button for help seven times, the officers didn’t come and help her until over 45 minutes later and then they wanna come rushing in like they’re doing something. Too late motherfuckers, we already took care of her.

This is the same girl I grew up with that beat my dog with the buckle of her leash then locked her in a cage outside to let all the other trailer park kids kick her cage with her and torment my dog and stayed on drugs I have no sympathy whatsoever you did the crime and you did the time I do however feel bad for the child who didn’t ask for any of it

I was put in RRJ in 2021 and stayed there for 2 years before being sent to prison . This was during covid . The nursing staff would just randomly stop giving me my mental health medications sometimes for weeks. Then when I finally went off I was put in the hole for 40 days. Feminine hygiene products were something you had to beg and beg for . Most of the time we had to make our own feminine hygiene products. The food is disgusting wet noodles most days. The majority of the food is not even edible. If I hadn't had my family sending me money to buy commissary I wouldn't have had anything to eat. I watched so many people going hungry there. Especially during covid when they stopped commissary for people who couldn't afford pay the rent. It's a very sad place and a corrupt system. A lot of the people in RRJ are there for the most minor crimes. But are treated like murderers. Most of them just need help. Either way it's incredibly inhumane. I'm glad someone is taking notice of this it's time something gets done. These judges are making money putting these people in this place it's all about money.

Here’s a real good one I was in there I remember a few officers got in trouble working the female side for S/Aing the female inmates and dude and his accomplices never got fired or brought on charges just demoted and moved to 6 building or to male side some real sick fucks working there

Vile place I remember a jail that got in big trouble for stuff done to female inmates one came to court in a t shirt shorts because she had her period and she made a mess the jail refused to let her shower that judge tore them a new a$$hole things were forced to change officers got fired and charged.I pray the same thing happens to RRJ they suck thank God my husband's brother made it out of that jail alive he's in a state facility that treats him a lot better and he's getting the help he needs.

Jails absolutely need to be held accountable for their lack of care and they should not be able to get away with doing stuff like this. On the other side of things, don't get your butt into trouble to end up into jail. ESPECIALLY, whenever you're pregnant and you won't have to worry about it either. I can see both sides of the coin.

I spent my pregnancy there and had my baby there and THANK GOD I got lucky and didn’t suffer any complications but while I was pregnant and went to the outside obgyn they wrote my prescriptions to get fruit/milk/veggies/ and an ice pass and it took them weeks to finally give it to me cause when I went back to the obgyn I told them they weren’t giving me the prescriptions they was writing for me and they called up to the jail and got on their ass

I was just released from fluvanna today and i ended up on life support after almost bleeding to death following an emergency cesarean at rrj.

This Jail has so many issues, and the staff doesn't care if anyone lives or dies. I saw someone having appendicitis and they didn't get help for 2 hours. But i'm 3 years clean yesterday and I don't plan on going back. Worst jail I've ever honestly been too. When I was in I took a couple bottles of meds to treat my Parkinsons. They gave me 1 out of 4 bottles because the rest said "As Needed" 🙄. The jail "Health Staff" can fall off a cliff for all I care.

I have heard so many people that were wronged at RRJ talk about what they were gonna do and who they were gonna call on behalf of either themselves or someone else and I have never seen anyone follow through. I have seen people seriously injured and some die in RRJ because of their negligence or lack of compassion and care. So thank you so much for doing something about it. For helping all of us that have been in there and treated poorly and had our medical care neglected. I appreciate your help and your desire to hold them accountable for their actions or lack there of!!!!!

I spent 18 months in this horrible place for 10 month sentence. It's been almost 7 years and I'm still on probation never failed a drug test never missed a meeting but they want to keep in the system I should be done then off release. Move to South Carolina had to start probation all over again. This whole system in spotsylvania county and Virginia is completely unethical. People catching you charges and are released from probation here I am with one driving charge and 6 and 1/2 years later still on probation. I'm a faithful churchgoer have held a job the whole time. But I'm just stuck in the system

They performed a surgery on my son in the jail because the nurse didn't have authority to release him to the hospital, even though the doctor was there and telling them he needed to go. They had to cut his arm open with no anesthesia or pain meds. They are inhumane!!!

What if the autopsy shows it was nobody's fault, not even his. But natural causes. It took me forever to get the autopsy results back from my daughter's father's autopsy. It sucks waiting to know the truth of how someone died. It's like you can't make peace with it until the results come back.

I was just released after 13 months and having a known mental health condition and in all that time never once saw mental health. This jail needs to be closed period. The cops here have no problem throwing mentally ill people in there and then just let them get so bad when they get out they struggle to even get mental health.

RRJ is a for profit business. They have no sympathy for inmates who they make money by housing. I know of several people who have been incarcerated in there with medical conditions. They refuse to allow outside pharmaceuticals inside. A person is supposed to be presumed innocent until proven guilty but if you are detained in RRJ even for a short period of time you are treated like [name removed] or something. They treat you like a convicted criminal. Some people are actually innocent but wrongfully charged or detained and must suffer like real criminals.

Ridiculous. This jail is insanely corrupt. Compared to other jails. This is known to be the worse one to go to in Virginia. The correction officers pass time in there shift by taunting inmates and then when the inmates react they send them to the hole😡 I willl see these fuckers in hell one day and I’ll taunt them

Never in a million years did I see that coming i dont know, just something about the smell and the sounds triggered something. Keep posting, sir! My celly two doors down hung himself in 2023. There were so many people who spoke out to COs beforehand and they laughed it off. I watched his dead body roll past my cell. I was cellies with murderers, kingpins, and the like who may never see another day again outside of those walls. I was there for drinking and driving. I had to fight a man who was there for stabbing his girl to death and kidnapping her kids afterwards. This place is demonic.

How about when they get there and due to just being in the wrong page with the wrong person they get the hell of a beat out of them and left on the floor! That happened to my son. Then I had another one went in there had Covid slept in what they call a banana bed on the floor sweated it out for days.
As a mother and I worked for the county for 20 years in the school system I got nothing against punishment when my kids were bad. But that doesn’t constitute once they’re in there once they’re doing their time and once they’re waiting out either transportation or release they do not receive the medical treatment they need. RRJ has a lot of grown-up to do Stafford in a whole has a lot of fixing to do. You have a really bad reputation and that’s not a good reputation you hold. you yourselves as the owners have to change …, RRJ people and workers HAVE to change. i’m not been to any of these meetings because the truth my kids probably be in there before I’m in there to talk to you. Your guards not only sexually abuse my son (a woman guard had sexual relations with him and exchanged from food )  her husband was also guard there at the time ,but they physically abused him and I’m not taking the chance that if he goes back in there y’all don’t beat him and then leave them on the floor.

Wake up and see what your jail has done. Wake up do something. You’re morally and ethically responsible. How you all sleep at night without a conscious is beyond me. Mental health is just as important as physical. The man who hung himself is an example. Under your staff watch. They laughed at him. How would you feel if that was your son? Not all who is in jail are hardcore criminals. Some just need mental health help. Not the hole or lockdown. Your jail puts them to sleep permanently. We need change and hope that you’re not elected again to be a district attorney. You could care less if someone is innocent. You protected those corrupt officers and you know it. The evidence you didn’t show. I know you saw it before the trail and you turned your head. Also I sent it to you to remind you how it’s your fault he lost his life, and then you blocked me! You can do the right thing like I suggested and make a change no your jail rather reap the financial benefits that come with it.

Please go to your library get some tapes out on after our prisoners of war in [name removed] II !when interviewed the POW guards from these camps said we were just doing our job it was a war if they were gonna be soldiers they were going to be punished for hurting our soldiers. I have a son up in Orange County who flunked one out of 25 questions on his lie detector test even though the lie detector man said he shouldn’t be giving the test to someone on medication for seizures. Since then my son has had seizures every week to the point that their medical staff just decided to up his meds. No doctor the staff at the jail decided just to sedate him. Grant you this was a failure of one question at a 25 question on the lie detector test that should never have been applied. It’s like the blind leading the blind in our jail system.

Being the sick individual that she is displaying narcissistic behavior always searched my things to find nothing because there was nothing to find. Anyway, short of solid proof I had evidence that she was in my device. November 2018 I was arrested for not paying a fine I was 7 months pregnant they refused to give me my vitamins and refused to provide proper care as I was just diagnosed with gestational diabetes they told me I had to wait til they got a note from the dr I told them I can have someone bring it here I was denied and told they have to put a order in
I was held for about a week then released but remind you they neglected to properly take care of me and my medical needs as a pregnant woman with gestational diabetes because me telling them wasn’t enough they needed a dr order so me and my unborn baby was at risk for that entire week I was locked up over being late on paying a fine 🤦‍♀️

VFOIA defines a public body, in part, as: “any legislative body, authority, board, bureau, commission, district, or agency of the Commonwealth or of any political subdivision of the Commonwealth, including counties, cities, and towns, municipal councils, governing bodies of counties, school boards, and planning commissions; governing boards of public institutions of higher education; and other organizations, corporations, or agencies in the Commonwealth supported wholly or principally by public funds” and “any committee, subcommittee, or other entity however designated of the public body created to perform delegated functions of the public body or to advise the public body.”

It exempts some public bodies from recording meeting minutes, including committees and subcommittees of local governing bodies unless their members constitute a majority of the governing body.

Someone in my pod in the cell next to me was begging them to help him with his problems for 3 days straight and on the fourth day he literally dropped dead in the middle of the day room officers and nurses were laughing while they were trying to resuscitate him. That jail needs to be investigated and class action sued for real

They will continue to do this until we have people to stand up. They get away with so much. They are protected by the county's that support them. No one and i mean no one will go up against them. All you hear is i have no control over what happens inside the jail.

A void sentencing order isn't "illegal" so much as it is null. It has no legal force, no lawful authority, and no power of its own. The only power it appears to have comes from people believing it has power.

That is the danger of manipulating the law, when fear replaces understanding, even something that is legally void can appear authoritative.

But the law does not breathe life into a nullity simply because officials continue to act under it. A void judgment remains void, regardless of how many proceedings are built upon it.

Definitely did I have a terminal illness and they almost killed me ..not listening to me ..not taking me to medical and being very inhumane..that place is a death trap and inhumane..the workers there hate that place and hate being there .I had a heart attack inside rej and it took them 2 hours before they got me help

Simply unacceptable!! I'm deeply sorry for this experience in my town. Humans should receive treatment on a timely manner. I wonder if they need community donations for hygiene.

My husband is there and told me that in March or so when he first arrived a guy was having chest pains and kept hitting the emergency button to no avail.. he ended up passing away from a heart attack.. he also got put in the hole for taking an extra tray because he was hungry due to portions etc. 😞

I remember this being in there having to take toilet paper turning it into a ball and shoving it up inside me making a homemade tampon. and then when getting caught doing this they considered it contraband. which is then another charge.

the truth also behind this is women also use these pads to clean the floor. because we're expected to clean them ourselves and they have to be cleaned to a certain level of clean. and the only way to do that is by using our sanitary napkins. if not the whole pod is locked down. and if it's because of our cell then we get in trouble by all the girls on the pod which is usually a beatdown.

ACCOUNTABILITY!!!!!!

A young woman in on a traffic stop sent 5 days sleeping on the floor . She contacted me to come get her personal belonging not feeling they were safe at RRJ. SHE WAS SET FREE AFTER THE STOP WAS [name removed] . But 5!!!Five days!!! On a cold floor !!! Time to change RRJ. STAFFORD COUNTY biggest  embarrassment !

Here’s a tidbit of information for all you who needlessly exaggerate your stay in a jail:

DON’T BREAK THE FUCKING LAW

The same thing happened to my girlfriend last year when she was there, I called raised Hell with medical and when they brought them in after they left the CO come in them all down pretty much told them if it ever happened again they would find out who called their family to complain and send them to the whole and give them a charge

I was there for a dui charge, and sent my laundry to get washed. All the laundry goes into individual mesh bags that are then thrown into this huge commercial size washer. My “white” clothes came back shit colored brown. Most of us washed our clothes in the sink with hand soap. Women had to make home made tampons because they only gave out a center amount of pads. It was contraband if they found it, The cake they give you every single day, rolls into a ball that’s like cement. Imagine that in your stomach. No milk ever, no fruits. They have a concoction of juice they make in coolers that’s absolutely disgusting and always has things floating in it. I mean I know it’s jail and it’s not suppose to be comfortable but the conditions people have to live in/stay in is just inhumane. The medication part is sad. I could go on and on and on :(

I wish the time would change. Having a meeting on Thursday July @1. I would love to be there. I don’t get off until 4
